In October we will be at Paper Passion, in Tilburg, with our notebooks, planners and even a workshop...

We added some new customization options to the store in May. Now you can have your notebook engraved with either one of the pre-selected engraving add-ons or send us a request to have your notebook engraved with a custom engraving or request custom colors.
A custom engraving is a wonderfull way to make your notebook unique and personal to you.

Feel free to send us all your requests and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
It's as easy as one click on a button to send us your request.

We had a lot of requests for the Fandom engravings, the LOTR map, Marauders map and the Hogwats houses to name a few. Unfortunately, the fandom engravings will only be available as limited items through the facebook group.
However we have many more options listed on the site and will keep building the portfolio. If you have something specific in mind and don't see it on the site, feel free to drop us a line!

We also have a few designs drawn by me (LFT) and I expect to have more designs in the future.
The Caduceus you see here is a lovely example of these.

Find these here
Leather lines
You may have noticed that we divided our Notebooks in different leather lines. We did this to make it easier to talk about the leather used and to indicate if a specific add-on is available with a certain leather line.
The Original Line, is the leather we started our company with and is a first choice full grain vegetable tanned leather. This is a firm leather that will require some breaking in, although this usually doesn’t take too much time. This is the High end option in our leather lines.
The Pendragon Line, has been added at the start of last year and is a rustic full grain oily vegetable tanned leather. Firm yet pliable and will shape perfectly to your inserts. It only comes in one color. This leather is the medium price point in our leather lines.
The Morgana Line, Has been added to the store in the fall of last year and is a split grain oily vegetable tanned leather. It is firm yet nice and pliable and will shape perfectly to your inserts. This is our budget line collection.

Original Line
Is available with all our add-on options and comes with all pocket styles.
Best suited for customization. Some options can only be added to the original line. Like f.i. the new 221B Baker street add-on.

Pendragon Line
Comes in one color and, although nice and pliable, is quite thick. This is why we use the thinner wallet leather to add pockets to the Pendragon line instead of the same leather like we do with the Original Line.

Morgana Line
Available colors change with the seasons. You have the option to add single pockets to either side, the Professional style. The three colors we offer each season will no longer be available after we retire them.

Upcoming in March, a new Loyalty program with tiered rewards system.
A little sneak peek at the upcoming news for March…we won’t tell too much yet, but I’m really excited about this. If all goes well, there will be tiers and you can pay with your points earned….YAY
That’s all from us for now. I hope you have a lovely week,
xoxo Monique
Journaling in my B6 slim
Together with my weekly diary I also keep a daily journal in my B6 slim Lady Falcon Traveler. I strive to journal every day, because I do find it helpful to get my thoughts straight. Especially after my Burn-out I found this very useful and I’ve been keeping it up fairly good.
I find that when I decorate the pages it’s easier to write. It’s like a little jump start for the actual writing.
Now I don’t write every day. Which is why I don’t like dated pages, because then I would have to write in my journal every day. I find that is too much pressure….and the point was to release pressure.

I did try that though, but once I skipped a page, or should I say a day… like in the above picture. I’d be stuck with an empty page… and empty pages are just wrong, at least to me they are.

They just created stress. So now with my undated, filled with random colored pages, I’m cool if I do skip a day.

Or two. I can just write on the next page and don’t have to worry about empty pages staring me in the face. Accusing me…

I do try to decorate 2 pages up front, so the “spread” has the same feel. Which means the second day is a lazy day, since I only have to doodle the date onto it, to kick-start me, and get on with the writing.

I have no set plan when decorating the pages, although I do seem to follow a certain order in which I place things on the page. Starting with washi, moving on to consecutive other things in my stash. I used to doodle a lot, or draw, but lately that hasn’t happened.
I guess there’s a time for everything, and doodling or drawing is not for now. I’m sure it’ll come back one day =)
I hope you enjoyed my messy journaling pages and I’d love to see yours.
Have a wonderful week,
xoxo Monique
My Planner Last Month, January 2018
It seems I completely forgot to post my planner for December….and the last newsletter, come to think of it. Time to catch up me thinks… starting with last months planner pages.
At the start of January I designed 2 new styles for my personal weekly planning. I felt I needed a change from my Modern style planner. Which worked great, but I felt I was repeating the same pattern for decorating over and over… and I wanted a change.
From the 2 designs I made I choose one to be the design for January and the other would be my February setup.

The design for January is the “INBOX” design. The monthly overview is still the MODERN design, because I hadn’t worked out what the INBOX MOTP should look like.
After using this design for a month, I feel it works really well, both for business like planning and for decorative planning pages.
Of course in a way, the same problem shows up here as well.

There are only so many ways in which you can decorate a page and still have it function the way it should.

Still I do like the way this design is working. So far this has only been a try-out and the final design might get a few tweaks, before I start listing it in my shop.

I think the final design doesn’t really need the Next Month section, so I’ll leave that out probably.

Both this design and the one I’m going to use for February were available throughout January in my Facebook group and if memory serves me right, also in the Free files folders.
The design for February is called “PLAYFUL” and is completely different and I’m really looking forward to using it. I made 2 inserts this time.

One Future Log insert, which will take me into 2020 and one for February. Previously I added the future log to the end of my diary and when it was full I transferred all that was needed to the next diary’s future log pages.

However, it seems I’ve gotten lazy and don’t want to keep transferring it. So I made a thin little booklet to keep in my TN long term. With some extra notes pages, for, well… notes =)
For the PLAYFUL design I did make a new Monthly view page. This one has lots of room to make notes… Not sure how I like this yet, but taking it for a test run this month.

The same goes for the new PLAYFUL WOTP. I’m so looking forward to this, I had such a ball making the little circles =) . I feel I may end up keeping it clean and pristine though, with to the point writing only…

Or perhaps not…. I may need to start writing a lot smaller though with this design.
I added some budgeting pages for the month of February to the back of the diary, but it still is a thin insert. Together with the Future Log they form a normal sized insert. So that should work well together.
I keep my journaling in a separate insert in the same TN. (A blogpost with some journaling pages will follow soon.) Together these 3 inserts and a folder, with stuff, make up my personal B6 slim sized TN with just the right thickness for me.

All in all looking forward to my February test.
Let me know what you think of these designs and if you’d like to test out the PLAYFUL design. I can upload the file to the free files folder.
I hope you have a wonderful week,
xoxo Monique
Newsletter December 2017

What's in a year...
2017 has been an amazing year with many changes for our little family run company. In 2016 we had to close the shop for all of the month December. Most other months, leading up to that, we were only open for one day a week, to try and catch up with orders.
In fact this was still the case for the first quarter of 2017.
I'm so happy that, even though we ship out more leather notebooks and inserts than ever before, we are able to meet the demand. It was a steep learning curve, but an amazing journey.

New in 2017
We introduced several new things in 2017, among which the Pendragon and Morgan leathers. and several new products.
We also introduced he Special selection Lady falcon Travelers. This is a set of three seasonal colors for the Lady Falcon Travelers Original, Saddle leather. They are 10% off for the period the seasonal special is listed.
The Holiday special will be available till January 8, 2018, after which the colors will return to the regular price listed. For the next seasonal special we are looking at some lovely Spring/Easter colors.
let us know if you have any specific Easter color preferances.

Leather Bookstrap
Among the new additions in our shop there is this lovely, vintage styled detachable leather bookstrap.
Perfect to carry your A3, A4 or A5 leather notebooks

Painted Add-On
The Painted Travelers have been going strong in the past year, even though you cannot buy them directly through the shop anymore..
You can find more information about these here.

Digital Templates
2017 was also the first year that I had all the 2018 templates ready and listed well before the end of the year.
These inserts are now 50% OFF through the ETSY shop till January 8, 2018.
Happy 2018
Looking back on 2017, it has been an amazing year and I feel so fortunate to be able to do what I love to do most together with my family and I hope to be able to do this for years to come.
We've had wonderful help from Kitty, Annelinde and, last but not least, from Bo this past year. It's not easy to find people that love working with leather and have the skills to do so. We feel very lucky to have found you.
Kitty will be taking a break the coming half year, to have her second baby and enjoy being a mother for the first half of 2018. We wish her and her husband all the best and hope you enjoy those precious first months.
I wish you all
a wonderful New Years Eve
and all good things
for 2018
Hope to see you again in the New Year!
On behalf of the team at lady Falcon Travelers.
XOXO Monique
My Planner Last Month, November 2017
Last month was NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month, which has gone global and although I tried my best to keep up with my diary, I'm afraid my decorating did suffer a bit from my daily novel writing goal.
Fortunately it was all not in vain, because I did succeed in writing 50,000 words by November 27.

Although my initial goal to write an entire story from start to finish did not turn out exactly how I planned it.
That is, I did write the complete outline, but when fleshing out the story and writing the scenes, I found out that the story I'm writing would not fit in 50.000 words. Or even in 1 book.
So I did write an entire story, with beginning middle and end, but have only the first book ready to start editing.

I did some kind of writing lesson every day and wrote some journaling in my NaNoWriMo insert to get me going with writing. ...and to keep me on my toes, decided to start learning Hiragana. Which obviously required a new insert and a new TN...

I did try to keep up with my planner, but found myself only adding some decorations after the week was over.

Which was fine. I may even continue to do it like that for a while, or till I get my new washi tapes...

As you can see above, by this time I was just slapping down some washi to fill the empty spaces. It was a hefty month, with the start of our first intern, NaNoWriMo, Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales in the shop, a reunion concert by my husbands old band and a computer that crashed completely...

Still I managed to get through it all and have even set a new writing goal for December. A little less ambitious this time, half as many words...only 10 more scenes to write and then the big editing can begin.
Still on track with our orders and I even managed to take the weekend off for a change. So yay for planning all the things and structuring all the tasks. My little B6 slim is working great to get the personal stuff done and recorded and my A5 workhorse is a life saver.
It keeps my bullet journal in the back. It has an insert for keeping track of supplies. It has my time tracking insert with a week on 4 pages, without which I would not know what to do anymore. My quick posts insert, with all the pics we take during the week, so that I know what to post when to Facebook and Instagram. And lastly an insert for blogposts and newsletters.
He's getting rather hefty, but since I don't need to take him out the door with me, well not usually, it's fine and I really love holding it and working through my tasks =)
Which is how it should be.
I hope you all have a lovely week and happy planning.
xoxo Monique
Newsletter, November 2017
NaNoWriMo update
Day 19 of the NaNoWriMo challenge and it looks like I'm going to get there, hopefully a little ahead of time even. You can find me as MoniqueVMB on the NaNoWriMo site.

I changed the name of the novel once already and I'm still not completely sure about it, but I figure it's just a working title and it'll probably change again once I'm done. Especially since I now found that the story is not going to be finished in 50,000 words.
So far I did an outline and wrote the first 10 or so chapters. Expanded the rest of the outline, figured out who the characters are going to be and generally dug myself in deeper and deeper. To a point where I now find myself drawing maps and thinking about place names for the world.
One thing I learned from this exercise so far, is that writing begets writing... Once you start you automatically wind up going deeper and deeper into the story. Building layer upon layer. It's so much fun to see how one sentence can turn into this elaborate piece. It reminds me of painting, which, at least to me, works on this same principle.
At the end of October I set up my B6 with 3 notebooks, 1 Nano Insert, 1 courses and classes insert and one 100+ page writing insert.
By the 15th of November the writing insert was completely full and I had to add a fourth insert, 128 pages this time. The courses insert now has about 8 pages left, so I think I need to stop taking classes... and the Nano insert is being used as a random daily starter for me. To write all kinds of stuff, create maps and work out creatures and things. You can see it in the below picture, it's the first insert.

I write everything longhand and then get very angry with myself at night when I have to add it all to scrivener. Especially since I don't know how to type blind... so yeah, there is the downside of that.

On the other hand, I did try to type it directly, but my brain just doesn't work like that. I prefer creating a mess in my notebook. By writing with pen somehow the new words in my mind seem to form whilst I'm writing out the sentences. As if by some kind of magic the words keep on flowing. Something that doesn't happen when I'm typing.

Who knows I may learn to type blind one day and it won't be such a daunting task to type it all into Scrivener. For now I'm sticking to my trusty B6, do my writing while sitting on the couch and then, under protest, type it all in scrivener.
Meanwhile the book is slowly getting out of hand (again) and for now it looks like I'm writing a three piece epic fantasy novel. Which is why I decided to not fight this, just go with the flow and make sure I have part one ready by the end of this month. Since the reason for trying the planner approach was to have a complete book finished by the end of the month. A novel with a start middle and end.
So far however, it seems like that plan failed, well on the original outline that is, apparently there's just too much I want to tell.
For those of you who'd like to read a small part of what I've written so far, I'll post a tiny piece of the story below. I hope you enjoy and please let me know what you think of it =)
Good luck with with writing in the last stretch for the month to all who are attempting it.
Have a wonderful week,
xoxo Monique
Excerpt from Blood of the Talan:
Not to far ahead the cold damp forest opened into an open space. Tiny compared to the towering trees around it. The sun played with the brightly colored flowers carpeting the open space.
When Dwyade reached the open spot he felt the sunshine hit his face. The smell of the flowers attacked his nose… They were tempting him to step further, to step into the sunshine, among the flowers. A soft wind caressed his neck and he realized that the deep darkness of the woods had chilled him to the bone. It send shivers down his spine.
He felt as if he was coming home after a long and tiresome journey. A bird sang somewhere among the trees. It was a soothing sound. He stepped further, deeper into the open space. He wanted to go there, all the way to the middle. Lay down among the inviting flowers, close his eyes and rest. Maybe even sleep a little. Suddenly he felt very tired.
The trees around the open space seemed to bend over to him. Closing him in, more and more. As if they were falling down while at the same time standing there tall and dark. Reaching for him in this tiny little sanctuary.
The smell around him was intoxicating. The flowers seemed to whisper to him, “come, lay your weary head down. Sleep and forget all your sorrows”. He could barely keep his eyes open. “Yes”, he thought, “Sleep, just a second, a minute maybe”.
“Yes”, the flowers beckoned. “Come and forget. Sleep and forget all…”.
Hiragana Practice insert
I used it to test saddle soap and am now using it as my series tracker but most importantly to learn Japanese writing.

I started about a week ago with learning Japanese through Duolingo, but was getting nowhere. Learning both new words and new letters proved to be too much for my brain and I wasn't getting any of it.

So I made a practice insert for Hiragana letters. With a few overview sheets.

and some general practice sheets.

But mostly with letters practice sheets... 2 pages per letter. Or should I say sign, I'm not sure...I'm that much of a beginner =)

I made it available with the free inserts for anyone who would like to practice Hiragana.
I'm quite happy with how my little A6 is looking so far.

Still need to add lots of bits in the folders. Here's the first folder I made with the new paper line we have for inserts and folders.
